Giglio

The Gold Note Giglio is a handmade Italian turntable that combines a compact structure with curved, understated lines, carefully selected materials and electronic control. Its design draws on Italian traditions while incorporating technical solutions intended to provide a precise music source.

The curved Walnut plinth increases rigidity and supports a clean, detailed presentation. Giglio uses a triple-dampened structure consisting of a main 50mm base made from Italian Walnut hardwood slats, a 20mm polished acrylic plinth and a 3mm stainless steel platform. The upper black polished acrylic board houses the electronic system, while the stainless steel reinforcement improves stability and rigidity and helps reduce overall frequency resonance.

The 33mm thick platter is made from Sustarin, a rigid, highly damped POM plastic polymer that reduces vibration and improves platter stability. Its high-precision bearing and spindle use closely matched tolerances. The spindle is made from rectified, hardened chromed steel, and the bearing is made from tungsten steel. The 5mm bearing is designed to support rotational stability and low noise.

A polished hourglass-shaped pulley promotes smooth belt rotation while reducing Wow&Flutter and rumble. The platter is designed to minimise vibration, with quiet operation and a low platter-to-plinth distance intended to improve stability.

The 12 Volt Swiss Made synchronous motor is controlled by a proprietary Quadral-Core micro-controller power control generator. The power supply incorporates an audio converter that reshapes the AC wave to drive the motor, helping to cancel vibration and provide high torque for dynamic range and resolution. Electronic control covers 33rpm and 45rpm operation, fine speed adjustment and memory storage for the settings.

Gold Note Giglio includes a dedicated Gold Note B5.1 tonearm and a custom-moulded transparent dust cover. The cover can be removed using the proprietary hinges.
