Fraim
The Naim Fraim centres on modular support for audio electronics, using cup-and-cone interfaces, ball decouplers and stainless steel spikes to limit mechanical energy transfer between levels. This helps preserve detail, pace and focus, while giving pitch, timing and dynamics a stable reference.

The Naim Fraim is a modular hi-fi equipment stand designed to isolate audio components from mechanical energy and reduce magnetic interaction between them. Its structure uses successive minimal-contact interfaces to decouple vibrations generated by products in operation, including power supplies, and micro-vibrations created when equipment is immersed in a sound field. These interfaces also provide a fixed reference plane for the internal isolation systems in each item of electronics.
Each level is separated from the next by a cup-and-cone interface, while the double-layer base level adds further isolation from resonance. A toughened glass sub-shelf is supported on minimal-contact ball decouplers, or ball bearings, and stainless steel floor spikes complete the isolation system. Shelf height options are configured to minimise magnetic field interaction between electronic products.
Material selection is central to the Fraim design. Its construction combines super-hard stainless steel, toughened glass selected following intensive listening tests, large-section extruded anodised aluminium and veneered wood composites. Stainless steel spikes, zinc-plated steel nuts and studs, and the other individual components were selected for their effect on sound quality, while the materials complement the Naim Audio aesthetic.
- Fraim platforms available in Natural Ash, Cherry (tinted and non-tinted) and Black finishes
- Extruded, anodised aluminium Fraim legs available in three heights, and in silver or black finishes
- Modular design allows for system expansion over time
- Fully decoupled structure with inter-level cup-and-cone interfaces and toughened glass sub-shelf supported on ball bearings
- Double-layer base level plus stainless steel floor spikes for maximum isolation
- Optimised shelf spacing to reduce magnetic interaction between components
Naim's development of Fraim was the first occasion on which the full engineering resources of a high-end audio manufacturer had been deployed in designing an equipment stand. The Fraim approach reflects the Naim Audio philosophy by prioritising pitch, timing and dynamics, and is intended to bring more detail, pace and focus to music.
