FireBird XLR 1m
The AudioQuest FireBird XLR 1m uses AudioQuest’s Level 6 noise-dissipation system, combining ZERO-Tech with a carbon and graphene mesh network to reduce radio-frequency interference. Solid PSC+ copper conductors, FEP air-tube insulation, silver-plated drain wires and a Dual-72v DBS pack support linear signal transfer and minimise dielectric noise. ** Please call for all available configurations **

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors
Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interaction between strands. PSC+ solid copper reduces distortion associated with grain boundaries and maximises linear RF noise dissipation.
Level 6 Noise-Dissipation: ZERO-Tech + Carbon/Graphene Mesh-Network + Direction-Controlled
Radio-frequency noise from cellular networks, WiFi and satellites is widespread. AudioQuest’s Level 6 linear noise-dissipation combines a carbon and graphene resistive mesh-network, direction-controlled conductors and silver-plated drain wires to minimise the masking effects of RF noise.
ZERO-Tech (No Characteristic Impedance) for Linear, Wide-Bandwidth Noise-Dissipation
Characteristic-impedance mismatch between a cable and its connected source and load circuits can only be avoided by preventing the cable from having a characteristic impedance. ZERO-Tech removes the electrostatic field between the high and low signal conductors, providing linear RF noise dissipation across the frequency range and uncompressed transients. A Dual-72v DBS pack is included for Pegasus, ThunderBird, FireBird and Dragon XLR cables to maintain complete isolation between the signal conductors.
72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
Insulation is a dielectric and can act as a shunt filter. Biasing reduces dielectric noise and linearises the filter, improving wide-bandwidth dissipation of induced RF noise.
FEP Air-Tube Insulation
The positive conductors have almost no contact with their FEP insulation, which has a low dielectric constant and causes minimal signal interference. The negative conductors use intentionally lossy insulation, with no air and no FEP, to support the different function of the negative connection.
6% Silver-Plated RF Drain-Wires
Direction-controlled silver-plated RF drain wires support the efficient dissipation of induced radio-frequency noise, helping to reduce interference with the signal.
Copper-Plated RF-Draining Barrels
Grounded copper-plated barrels maximise noise dissipation by preventing the metal barrel from capacitively coupling RF energy to the conductors.
Hanging-Silver over Red Copper Plugs
AudioQuest plugs use hanging silver, rather than tumbled silver, directly over high-purity red copper to maintain signal transfer.
All Mythical Creature interconnects are available with custom-made RCA and XLR terminations.
