Evo 3 Sequel 2m

The IsoTek Evo 3 Sequel 2m centres on silver-plated 99.9999% oxygen-free copper conductors with optimised strand geometry. Its active, earthed shielding helps reject EMI, RFI and common-mode noise, supporting cleaner power for connected audio equipment and allowing the listener to hear the system without this interference.

The IsoTek EVO3 Sequel 2m is a power cable designed as an upgraded, affordable alternative to the free ‘kettle’ leads supplied with much audio and AV equipment. Reviewers worldwide have described the entry-level EVO3 Premier as breaking new ground at its price point, and the Sequel extends that design with additional features.

The Sequel has a standard length of 2m, compared with 1.5m for the Premier. It uses silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors twisted together to aid EMI and RFI rejection, with optimised individual strand thickness for improved conductor geometry. An advanced active shield is fitted beneath the flexible PVC outer sheath, using the same standard as IsoTek’s more costly power cables.

CONSTRUCTION: The conductors use a parallel construction with a slight rotational twist. This established arrangement provides the first line of defence against RFI and EMI.

A) Conductors: Silver-plated 99.9999% OFC conductors provide high purity and enhanced conductivity. They are less likely to fracture or degrade over time. Silver is an effective conductor and, combined with high-purity copper, provides suitable electrical properties.

B) Dielectric: The Teflon FEP dielectric, or insulation, is chemically inert and has a low dielectric constant across a wide frequency range. FEP has a high level of stress-crack resistance and a low coefficient of friction. It is used for temperature safety and electrical insulation.

C) Filler: Cotton filler gives the cable internal strength and reduces microphony. Cotton also has dielectric properties suited to use as a solid material.

D) Wrap: A Mylar wrap secures the construction and provides a barrier shield before the flexible PVC jacket is applied. Together, the Mylar and cotton form a buffer with the PVC to maintain the cable’s dielectric properties.

E) Shield: An earthed OFC shield provides RFI rejection and helps prevent common-mode noise from affecting the live and neutral conductors.

F) Jacket: The PVC outer jacket provides flexibility and mechanical strength.

TERMINATION: IsoTek Sequel cable is terminated with bespoke audiophile-grade moulded connectors made from solid OFC, with 24ct gold-plated conductors. These are less prone to tarnishing.
