Digital Coax 1m
The Jorma Design Digital Coax 1m carries a digital audio signal with a neutral, transparent and natural character, allowing your attention to remain on the music. Its fine copper conductor is wound around a ceramic glass fibre filler, while pure Teflon dielectric and tin-plated copper shielding help reject radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference.

The Jorma Design Digital Coax 1m is a digital coaxial cable made with Jorma Design’s copper conductors, Teflon dielectric and shielded construction. Its design uses a special ceramic glass fibre filler, ultra-thin threads and fine copper wound in parallel to form a narrow tube. The tube varies in thickness according to the cable series.
Conductors
The conductor centre contains hundreds of ultra-thin ceramic glass fibre threads. Fine copper threads are wound around the fibres in exact parallel, creating a very thin copper tube. Jorma Design found that reducing the tube thickness produced better-sounding results, but a thin copper tube alone would not be stable enough for normal use. The copper is therefore twined around a pure ceramic fibre filler to maintain a form as close as possible to a tube. Although this construction is difficult to produce, the finished conductor is highly resistant to damage.
Copper
Jorma Design uses copper for its loudspeaker cables and interconnects after experimenting with other materials and copper configurations. The company states that copper provides a neutral, transparent and natural musical signal. The conductors use the purest possible copper, with purity assessed not only by oxygen content but also by the absence of other polluting materials and metals. Before being used in production, every conductor is subjected to a spark test using 6000 V impulse tension.
Dielectric
The dielectric is made from non-coloured Teflon.
Shielding
The shielding is designed to reject radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), while also helping to stabilise the cable against vibration and microphonics. Jorma Design cables are heavily shielded with tin-plated copper, except for power cords, which use a different type of steel shielding. The shielding works with the conductor geometry to remove incoming and outgoing RFI and EMI without compromising the audio signal.
Connectors
The connectors are selected for sound quality, as is the solder where solder is used. Cable connectors are assembled with gold-plated copper crimps, with no solder employed.
Structure and size
The structure combines the selected materials with the conductor geometry to support Jorma Design’s natural sound. The cables are thin because increasing their diameter would adversely affect the sound. Jorma Design uses the least insulation necessary to keep the finished product strong, safe and long lasting. Adding more insulation than required would degrade the sound, so the cable has the appearance that follows from this construction.
Quality control
Each Jorma Design cable is a defined combination of design, structure and materials. Every cable must meet strict criteria before leaving the factory, and is individually tested to confirm that it meets those standards.
The sound
Jorma Design states that every cable must sound musical. In this context, musical means allowing the owner to listen to and enjoy music for hour after hour, with concentration remaining on the music rather than on the cable. The intended result is a natural presentation that allows the audio system to immerse the listener in a sound field.
