D9.2

The Spendor D9.2, a 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker, places its 22mm LPZ polyamide dome tweeter below the 18cm EP77 polymer-cone midrange, while 2 EP777 polymer-cone drivers handle bass. Its 5G linear-flow port extends low-frequency response, while asymmetric aperture bracing and dynamic damping help create a silent cabinet and fast, clear sound.

The Spendor D9.2 is a 4-driver, 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker from the D-Line series. Its tweeter is positioned below the mid-range drive unit, while 2 bass drive units are located at the bottom of the cabinet.

Designed for use with all good amplifiers, the Spendor D9.2 combines a slim enclosure with modern finishes for placement in dedicated listening rooms or everyday living spaces. It is specified to deliver high resolution and extended low-frequency output across music of all genres.

The D-Line loudspeakers incorporate Spendor’s research into cabinet damping, advanced polymers, amplifier-loudspeaker interface, low-frequency airflow and sound behaviour. The D9.2 builds on the Spendor D7 with an additional drive unit. Both models use a 5G, or fifth-generation, linear flow port at the rear and a single set of recessed speaker terminals. The D9.2 uses its larger cabinet, 2 bass drive units and 5G linear flow port to extend low-frequency response.

Spendor quotes a frequency response of 27 Hz to 25 kHz for the D9.2. Sensitivity is 90 dB for 1 Watt at 1 metre, with a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. Power handling is 250 watts unclipped.

FEATURES:

  • Cabinet uses asymmetric aperture bracing to disperse internal wave
  • Dynamic damping with small low mass constrained polymer dampers at key energy interface points instantly convert any spurious energy in the cabinet structure into heat
  • Both asymmetric aperture bracing and dynamic damping result in a silent cabinet and a fast clear sound.
  • The 4 feet supporting the cabinet can be levelled and are attached via forged steel inserts for stability of the cabinet.
  • Power handling is 250 watts unclipped.
  • The 4 drive units in the Spendor D9.2 are all built by Spendor and are HF - Spendor 22 mm, LPZ polyamide dome, Mid - Spendor 18 cm EP77 polymer cone and Bass - 2 times Spendor 18 cm EP777 polymer cone.
