The Spendor Classic 200 is a floorstanding loudspeaker from the Classic range, which has been developed over more than 5 decades for audiophiles, musicians and professional sound engineers. The range’s reference standing followed the introduction of the flagship SP200 and the worldwide response it received. In 2017, Spendor introduced its most significant performance improvements across all models.
The new generation of Spendor drive units uses advanced polymer and Kevlar cones, cast magnesium alloy chassis, high-efficiency motor systems, optimised electro-dynamic damping and thermal dissipation. Bass drivers incorporate Kevlar composite stabiliser domes. These developments are intended to provide transparency and dynamic contrast while retaining the warmth and character associated with the original 70s Spendor Classic loudspeakers.
Spendor also revised the crossover networks and cabinet structures, adding elastomer panel damping and new-style magnetic grilles. The Spendor Classic 200 is calibrated and matched to broadcast reference standard, with British design and manufacture.
