ChordBurndy 555
The Chord Cables ChordBurndy 555 is handmade to order for Naim Audio equipment with Burndy connections. Silver-plated copper conductors, Taylon insulation, acoustic and anti-EMF braids sit beneath a black nylon jacket, with custom configurations available for different equipment combinations.
Each cable is handmade to order and uses a signal and shielding system comprising silver-plated copper conductors, Taylon® proprietary insulation, an acoustic braid and an anti-EMF braid, protected by a black nylon outer jacket.
The project was developed using a Burndy-equipped Naim NAP 300 in the listening room.
Several prototypes were produced, with each providing individual improvements. The Burndy cables were then developed using the company’s materials and design techniques, with the aim of improving performance across different types of music.
Increasing the conductor gauge and upgrading the shielding produced the largest improvements. For Naim 500 series models, the copper gauge has been increased to the maximum permitted by the larger pins.
Depending on the equipment combination, there can be between 7 and 19 internal cables. The ChordBurndy requires a detailed build, with different custom-built versions priced according to their complexity and the number of wires required.
