CD-1000 MKII Deluxe

A complete source for digital music

The CD-1000 combines a CD transport, digital stage and analogue stage in a single source.

Alongside CD playback, the CD-1000 provides DAC functionality through S/PDIF coaxial and TOS optical digital inputs. The high-resolution D/A stage uses the Burr Brown PCM1796 or PCM1792 converter. The S/PDIF coaxial and TOS optical inputs are managed by an AKM receiver supporting frequencies up to 192kHz. An optional USB port with a customised processor is also available. This allows the CD-1000 to play CDs, connect to a TV or DVD player through its coaxial and optical inputs, and stream audio from a computer through the optional USB connection.

The JPL2800 is an aluminium, drawer-type transport mechanism custom made in Austria. It is designed to provide stable rotation and a digital signal with very low jitter levels.

The CD-1000 can optionally be fitted with a digital volume control stage, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers or active speakers. Track numbers and elapsed time are shown on the large OLED 3D display. The solid-state output stage is fully balanced and uses low-noise, low-distortion Burr Brown operational circuits in a Dual-Mono configuration.

The GN Dual-Mono power supply uses 2 encapsulated toroidal transformers custom made in Italy. These components provide low dispersion and efficient power delivery, supporting a clean, detailed and accurate sound.

The design combines functional ventilation with the styling established by the PH-10 phono stage. The air vents are used across Gold Note electronics, making the products immediately recognisable.

1000 SERIES DESIGN

The modular design of the 1000 series allows external and internal upgrades, including the external Class-A tube output stages TUBE-1006 or 1012, and the external Super Power Supply units PSU-1000 or 1250.

A COMPLETE SOURCE

The CD-1000 provides more than CD playback, with Coax, TOS Optical and optional USB digital inputs supporting high-resolution audio up to 24/192.

TANK STRUCTURE

The CD-1000 uses a sandwich structure made from thick steel and aluminium. Its construction provides vibration damping and shielding from electromagnetic interference.

Compared with the Classic model, the CD-1000 MKII Deluxe uses a Burr Brown PCM1792A DAC chip rather than the Burr Brown PCM1796, and adds a USB digital input interface with 24/192kHz resolution.
