Solid 5% Silver Conductors

Solid-core conductors eliminate strand-to-strand electrical and magnetic interaction, a common source of signal distortion. In high-frequency digital cables, signals travel primarily along the conductor's surface. To optimize performance, AudioQuest applies a 5% silver plating over its Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors. Positioning the highly conductive silver on the outer surface enhances signal transmission and provides a cost-effective improvement in overall cable performance.

Carbon-Based 5-Layer Noise-Dissipation System

While achieving complete shield coverage is relatively straightforward, preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from contaminating the equipment's ground reference is far more challenging. AudioQuest's 5-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) addresses this issue by using alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials. Instead of allowing RF energy to reach the ground layer and introduce signal distortion, the NDS absorbs and reflects much of the interference before it can affect the signal path.

Hard-Cell Foam Insulation

Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation maintains precise conductor spacing while minimizing energy absorption. Conventional insulation materials can store electrical energy and release it back into the signal, introducing distortion. HCF is nitrogen-injected to create air pockets, reducing dielectric absorption because nitrogen does not store or release energy. Its rigid structure also preserves consistent conductor geometry along the cable, ensuring stable impedance and improved signal integrity.

Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper Terminations

The cable features cold-welded terminations with hanging-silver directly applied over pure Purple Copper connectors. This construction provides a durable, low-resistance connection that helps preserve signal quality and long-term reliability.
