Solid 5% Silver Conductors

The solid-core conductors prevent strand-to-strand electrical and magnetic interaction, which can contribute to signal distortion. In high-frequency digital cables, signals travel mainly along the conductor surface. AudioQuest applies 5% silver plating to its Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors, placing the highly conductive silver at the outer surface to support signal transmission and improve overall cable performance.

Carbon-Based 5-Layer Noise-Dissipation System

Achieving complete shield coverage is relatively straightforward, but stopping captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from reaching the equipment's ground reference is more difficult. AudioQuest's 5-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) uses alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials. The system absorbs and reflects much of the RF energy before it can reach the ground layer and affect the signal path.

Hard-Cell Foam Insulation

Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation maintains accurate conductor spacing while limiting energy absorption. Conventional insulation can store electrical energy and release it into the signal, causing distortion. HCF is nitrogen-injected to form air pockets, reducing dielectric absorption because nitrogen does not store or release energy. Its rigid structure also maintains consistent conductor geometry along the cable, supporting stable impedance and signal integrity.

Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper Terminations

The terminations are cold-welded, with hanging-silver applied directly over pure Purple Copper connectors. This construction provides a durable, low-resistance connection intended to preserve signal quality and long-term reliability.
