The Bryston BP-19 is a high-performance analogue preamplifier developed from technologies introduced in the flagship BR-20. Designed around a fully balanced signal path and carefully selected components, it combines extremely low noise and distortion with the transparency, control and natural presentation expected from Bryston.

At the heart of the BP-19 is Bryston’s optimised discrete operational amplifier circuitry, achieving THD+N of less than 0.0006%. An oversized toroidal power transformer and carefully regulated power supply provide a stable foundation, while the compact circuit layout and closely matched components help maximise channel separation and common-mode rejection.

Connectivity includes 2 pairs of balanced XLR inputs and 4 pairs of RCA inputs. Balanced and single-ended outputs are provided in both fixed and variable configurations, giving the BP-19 considerable flexibility within a high-performance two-channel system.

Volume is controlled by a digitally managed analogue stepped-ladder attenuator with 0.5dB resolution, combining precise adjustment with excellent channel accuracy. Front-panel balance and mute controls are complemented by infrared remote operation, while RS232 and Ethernet connectivity allow integration with compatible control systems.

For vinyl listeners, the BP-19 can also be specified with Bryston’s optional BP-2 moving-magnet phono stage. Moving-coil capability can be added through dedicated step-up transformers, providing a flexible analogue front end for a wide range of cartridges.
