The KEF Blade Two Meta is a compact floorstanding loudspeaker using Single Apparent Source technology. It shares the acoustic platform and design approach of the Blade One Meta, with four 165mm (6.5 in.) force-cancelling bass drivers and KEF’s 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™).
Single Apparent Source technology places the drive units around the Uni-Q® array so that the Blade Two Meta operates as a coherent sound source, supporting precise imaging. The latest version combines this arrangement with KEF’s 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array and MAT™, an acoustic technology developed to absorb unwanted sound from behind the driver.
Each pair of low-frequency drivers has its own discrete chamber. Separating the pairs reduces the potential for interference between the drive units and reduces the need for damping material, which can affect bass quality.
The Concept Blade was created by KEF’s engineers to demonstrate the company’s technology and approach to loudspeaker design without preconceptions or restrictions. KEF has continued developing the Blade range around sound quality and acoustic performance.
KEF has been creating loudspeakers at its UK home in Maidstone, Kent, since 1961. Blade Two Meta remains designed, engineered and handcrafted there as part of KEF’s flagship hi-fi loudspeaker range.
