Solid Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) Conductors
Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic interaction between strands. PSS solid silver reduces distortion associated with grain boundaries and maximises linear RF noise dissipation.

Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation
Although 100% shield coverage is straightforward, preventing captured Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AudioQuest's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS). Traditional shielding can absorb noise and RF energy before draining it to the component ground, modulating and distorting the critical reference ground plane and consequently the signal. NDS uses alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics to shield the shield, absorbing and reflecting most noise and RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.

72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)
Insulation between 2 or more conductors is also a dielectric, and its properties affect signal integrity. When unbiased, the dielectric can absorb and release energy non-linearly, creating different time delays and phase shifts at different frequencies and energy levels. This presents a problem for time-sensitive, multi-octave audio. An RF Trap, developed for AudioQuest's Niagara Series of power products, prevents radio-frequency noise from being induced into the signal conductors by the DBS field elements. FEP Air-Tube Insulation
Positive conductors benefit from almost no contact between the metal and its FEP insulation. FEP has a low dielectric constant and introduces minimal signal interference. Negative conductors use intentionally lossy insulation, with no air and no FEP, to suit the different function of the negative connection.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry
Designed for single-ended applications, Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry provides relatively lower impedance on the ground. Whereas many single-ended cables use 1 path for both the ground and the shield, Double-Balanced designs separate these paths for cleaner, quieter performance.

Cold-Welded, Direct-Silver Plated Pure Red Copper Terminations
Direct-silver plating is used without an underlying nickel layer. The cold-weld process avoids the use of solder.
