Amati G5

The Sonus Faber Amati G5 is a floorstanding loudspeaker from the 5th generation of the Homage series. Its design takes inspiration from Nicolo Amati, the Italian renaissance violin maker, and his understanding of the relationship between artistic form and musical function. New technology is used to produce balanced sound with detailed musical reproduction, while the cabinet retains the refined character associated with the Amati.

The latest Homage generation introduces a series of technological upgrades intended to increase sonic power while preserving musical detail. The design aims to create three-dimensional sound and reproduce the sensation of a live performance within any listening space.

The Amati G5 combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Its wood, lute-shaped cabinet is offered in 3 finishes: Graphite, Wengè and Red. The cabinet form remains central to the Homage series, while the 5th-generation model represents the latest stage in its development.

Sonus faber Chief Design Officer Livio Cucuzza describes the design process as an effort to improve an established product while understanding the reasons for its original creation. He worked on the 3rd generation of Homage as his first product for the company, and considers the 5th generation to be the most evolved and mature version while remaining authentic. He also describes the series as a story that has developed through different stages of his own life, continuing to hold his interest and giving him a sense of pride in being part of it.
