A15

The Aurender A15 centres on a dual-mono AKM4490 digital-to-analogue converter with full MQA decoding, supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512. Its balanced XLR and RCA outputs, plus lossless DAC-level volume control, allow direct connection to a power amplifier.

Elegant Simplicity

The A10 established Aurender’s first music server and streamer with an integrated DAC. The A15 replaces it with a range of new features and audible improvements.

A15 is an all-in-one digital source component with balanced analogue outputs and a dual-mono AKM4490 digital-to-analogue converter with full MQA decoding. Like the other models in Aurender’s A series, it is designed for MQA-encoded music. Two rear-panel bays accept user-installable 2.5" HDDs or SSDs, with up to 8TB available in each bay. The front-panel display shows album artwork, artist name and song title in colour.

A15 is suited to replacing an ageing CD player or laptop, or to those who want a single-box digital source component.

Dual Mono MQA Full-Decoder DAC

A15 uses a dual-mono implementation of the AKM4490 DAC chipset. Its integrated DAC decodes PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512, in addition to providing full decoding of the audio formats supported by the MQA process.

Linear Power Supply with Integrated UPS

The fully linear power supply uses 4 audiophile-grade toroidal transformers, with shielding and isolation designed to prevent noise entering the signal path at this stage.

User-Installable Storage Options

A15 has 2 trays for user-installable storage. Each can accept an SSD with a capacity of up to 8TB. The trays can be left empty for systems that do not require internal storage.

FPGA-Based Precision Clock

A Field Programmable Gate Array based clock-generation system controls the A15 DAC section. Its sub 100fs clock generator times digital audio data transmission precisely, reducing jitter to well below negligible levels.

Variable Output XLR & RCA Outputs

A15 provides balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs for connection to a preamplifier, integrated amplifier or power amplifier. Lossless DAC-level volume control allows it to operate as a preamplifier when connected directly to a power amplifier.

Digital Connectivity

Coaxial and optical digital inputs allow additional sources, such as a CD transport or TV, to be connected. These devices use the DAC integrated into A15.
