The EAR Yoshino 868 is an analogue preamplifier, crafted in England with a solid construction and a 10mm CNC-machined fascia. The fascia is hand-finished in polished chrome and accompanied by 4 control knobs. Its styling and build reflect EAR Yoshino’s decades of engineering experience.

Five analogue inputs allow the EAR 868 to accommodate a broad range of analogue sources, with balanced XLR connections for professional and high-end equipment. The 868PL version adds an integrated phono stage for both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges.

Designed by Tim de Paravicini, the circuit is based on technology from the studio-grade EAR 912. It uses 4 PCC88 valves and is engineered for low noise and low distortion, with the compact format providing the performance and reliability associated with a professional-grade preamplifier.

A built-in high-capacity power supply removes the need for an external power brick and helps to minimise hum and interference. The power transformer and output transformer are individually designed and hand-wound to EAR’s specifications, supporting long-term reliability and musical performance from the EAR Yoshino 868.
