Versatile Analogue Performance

Designed to handle a wide range of analogue sources, the EAR 868 provides five analogue inputs, including balanced XLR connections for professional and high-end equipment. The 868PL adds an integrated phono stage supporting both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges.

Tim de Paravicini Design

Based on the technology of the studio-grade EAR 912, the 868 uses four PCC88 valves in a carefully engineered circuit designed for low noise, low distortion and exceptional musical performance. Its compact format delivers the performance and reliability expected from a professional-grade preamplifier.

Bespoke Power Supply

The EAR 868 features a built-in high-capacity power supply, eliminating the need for an external power brick while helping minimise hum and interference. Both the power and output transformers are individually designed and hand-wound to EAR’s exacting specifications, completing a preamplifier built for outstanding musicality and long-term reliability.
