Compact form

The 803 D4 delivers much of the technology and presence of its larger 800 Series siblings in a more compact design. Its dedicated 130mm (5-in) Continuumâ„¢ midrange cone is housed within the distinctive Turbine Head, isolating it from the bass section for exceptional clarity and focus.

Reverse Wrap cabinet

Instead of a conventional box-shaped enclosure, the 803 D4 uses Bowers & Wilkins’ Reverse Wrap cabinet design. A continuous curved section of wood places the drive units at the heart of an exceptionally rigid structure, helping to minimise unwanted resonance and improve sound dispersion.

Enhanced Matrixâ„¢

Inside the cabinet, an advanced Matrixâ„¢ bracing system reinforces the enclosure in every direction. This highly rigid internal structure reduces cabinet vibration, allowing the 803 D4 to deliver greater scale, precision and a more convincing soundstage.

Aluminium bass pods

Twin Aerofoilâ„¢ bass cones are mounted within individual solid aluminium bass pods. Each pod is secured to an aluminium plate positioned at the strongest point of the curved cabinet, providing an exceptionally stable foundation for powerful, controlled low-frequency performance.
