McIntosh MSA550 launches

McIntosh has unveiled the MSA5500 streaming amplifier, a versatile new addition designed to serve as the cornerstone of your audio system. Built for flexibility, the MSA5500 combines amplification, streaming capabilities, and extensive physical connectivity options into a single high-end unit suitable for various setups.

This amplifier delivers 100 Watts per channel into 8 ohms and features McIntosh’s “audiophile-grade” 32-bit balanced DAC, which promises exceptional dynamic range and minimal distortion. It incorporates several signature McIntosh technologies, including “Power Guard,” which safeguards against audio clipping.

The MSA5500 supports PCM audio up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD512, while offering Bluetooth 5.0 streaming with Qualcomm aptX HD and aptX Adaptive codec support. It is also compatible with major streaming platforms and services like Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect.
