Every once in a while, a new manufacturer produces a product that is quite clearly a cut above the competition. In this case it is the American pro-audio manufacturer Bricasti. Retailing at £5995, this all new DAC significantly raises the bar in terms of price & performance.
The M1 is a dual mono design. This means that there are 2 completely isolated channels, a left and right, each with its own dedicated linear power supply, D/A converter, clocking, and analog circuitry. This design insures that analog cross talk is virtually non existent, and that the necessary power requirements for each channel are well met and isolated from each other and the digital processing which has its own power supply. With the twin DAC design, the dynamic range for each channel is optimized by using a the stereo ADI 1955 D/A converter in a mono configuration, plus clocking is for each channel done directly at the DAC with a technique called DDS (direct digital synthesis) which takes clock induced jitter to immeasurable levels.
Build Quality
The M1 is robustly constructed of milled and CNC machined aluminum sections. There is no typical bent metal chassis and top cover found on most products. All sections of the construction, the front and rear panels, the sides and even the bottom and top plates start out as solid blocks of aluminum which are precision machined to shape, with exact tolerances for a perfect fit. These parts are then anodized and the text and markings are laser etched for a clean and enduring look.

Anthem…….not a name banded about the high-end 2 channel world currently but maybe you’ll all be more familiar with the name Sonic Frontiers? Well it’s technically the same company with a new name, new products, new everything really!
Rarely do products emerge that genuinely move the game on but Anthem, who are currently making massive waves in the high-end AV market, have developed a truly show stopping product in the Statement M1 monos. Their sheer power and control seems endless with even the most complex musical arrangements. Resolution, speed, transparency and imaging are also all World Class. We have been dealing with Class D amps in our portfolio for a while but nothing quite like this! Wow!!
The price for all this performance? A quite unbelievable £7000. These will be the bargain of 2012! Available for demo in-store from January.

Another year flies by and it’s already time for the National Audio Show 2011!!
We’ve been working hard to bring you a little exclusive this year but I can’t say any more than that at the minute so you’ll just have to come along to find out! We have decided to take 2 larger rooms this year to accommodate more people as last years demo’s proved incredibly popular. The room names and the equipment lists are shown below:
Ground Floor – Catalunya
In this suite we will be showing the latest product from Marantz and Wilson Benesch. We will be holding an exclusive UK product launch from Marantz on Saturday 24th between 11am and 12pm which will include some very special show pre-order packages so make sure you attend as numbers are limited! The fabulous demo system for the room will consist of the following:

Well it’s finally here!
The much awaited M1 CLiC has finally started shipping and it’s been well worth the wait! A very simple and elegantly styled unit that is an absolute breeze to operate. The colour screen is extremely clear and makes navigation very simple from any of the seven available input sources! As an all round digital solution the CLiC makes an incredibly viable addition to any system offering high performance and sheer convenience all in the one package. We have had our Bournemouth demo unit for 3 days now and it’s been on permanently! 2 words…..want one!
OUTLINE OF M1 CLiC
The M1 CLiC is universal music controller for digital and analog sources. It has:
- Seven digital inputs (2 x digital ipod/iphone/memory stick or USB drive, 2 x coax, optical, USB, network connection.)
- Three analog inputs
- Streaming
- Internet radio
The CLiC has both fixed and variable output. It also has a trigger output.
The CLiC will operate from wireless or Ethernet.

The Vector
The Vector is a 2.5 way, highly optimised, advanced materials technology, floorstanding loudspeaker. The shell design delivers huge amounts of air volume, despite its small external surface area which is another key factor in the success of the design.
