The FB and TB have received accolades from all corners of the world and are viewed as the benchmark in the realm of the audiophile. In celebration of ten years production of these ‘audio classics’ two limited edition signature models have been conceived.
Dubbed the Signature models, they display all the ultra high definition and finesse of the current i series designs with added refinement and transparency in the mid, vocal range. The key to this enhancement is the fine tuning to the crossover networks which has been carried out Peter Thomas himself – designer and founder of PMC.
Such is the confidence in build quality and engineering excellence the warranty period has been doubled to match the ten phenomenally successful years since their launch.
The beautifully handcrafted British cabinets are finished in the distinct and rare Rose Palissandre veneer. A chic enhancement for any modern or traditional interior.

Bel Canto’s all new series of cute, eco friendly little DACs have arrived and here we focus on the top spec DAC3.5vb. Here’s what Bel Canto have to say about it……
“The Bel Canto Dual-Differential DAC3.5VB Control Center features a class leading 126dB dynamic range with their proprietary low noise digital to analog convertor core. Including five 24/192 digital inputs, high speed ST fiber and a 24/192 ADC analog input, the DAC3.5VB integrates and controls all of your audio sources including an analog input for a phono preamp or Home Theater Bypass. The front panel features a single multifunction control knob that selects inputs and controls volume level. The DAC3.5VB also includes Bel Canto’s new 8 character alpha-numeric display and the ability to control balance, absolute phase and to rename and disable unused inputs.
The foundation of the DAC3.5VB is Bel Canto’s jitter-eliminating Master Reference Ultra-Clock circuitry that ensures that jitter from any source is reduced below the audible threshold. The 24-bit digital volume control is completely transparent and accurate throughout the volume range. This precision continues with custom Caddock resistors, class-A output circuitry and low noise power supply components. The heavy-gauge all-steel chassis design prevents mechanical resonance from compromising the audio signal quality.

Musical Fidelity have unveiled the most advanced pure Class A amplifier ever made. Fact.
Oh, and it’s rather large and rather heavy! Here’s why…..
Circuit topology
As far as we know the AMS50 is the first ever 50 watt pure Class A bridged amplifier. There are many advantages to a bridged amplifier; lower distortion and huge power supply noise rejection. These advantages are even more significant in a pure Class A configuration.
The AMS100 has the same basic circuit as the AMS50 but even more of it. In fact the AMS100 has precisely the same circuitry and number of output transistors as MF’s monster Titan.
The AMS100 circuit configuration is unique and delivers excellent technical performance (more about technical matters below) and a beautiful sound.

After studying electrical engineering Daniel Weiss joined the Willi Studer (Studer – Revox) company in Switzerland. At Studer he worked in the digital audio lab for five years. His work included the design of a sampling frequency converter and the digital signal processing electronics for digital audio recorders.
In 1985 Mr. Weiss founded the company Weiss Engineering. From the very beginning the company concentrated on the design and manufacture of digital audio equipment for mastering studios. The modular “102 Series” system was the first product. Even today this system is still up to date (24 bit / 96kHz) and is still sold. Hundreds of Mastering Studios around the world use it every day.
Early in the nineties the “Gambit Series” was launched. It consists of stand-alone units like Equalizer, Dynamics Processor, A/D converter, D/A converter, Sampling Frequency Converter, Dithering etc.
The Gambit Series took ergonomics and sonic quality to new heights. 40 bit floating point processors and sampling rates up to 96kHz are employed.
The wealth of experience Weiss gained during all those years of working together with the “Golden Ears” Mastering Engineers, they now apply to the design of outstanding Hi-Fi products. Their philosophy is to create long lasting, high quality products. High quality in each and every facet, be it sonics, ergonomics, economics and ecologics, or cosmetics.

The all new SYSTEMDEK 3D – The ultimate in precision turntables
The late Peter Dunlop created the very first Systemdek turntable over 30 years ago now. From the first day of launch, it caused quite a stir among the press with its numerous innovations. Not surprisingly, it took very little time before people realized just how comfortably it outperformed the competition. Now Systemdek is back and looks set to repeat history all over again with a turntable whose performance, aesthetics and engineering push the very limits of what is achievable today.
Successors to the throne, sons Derek and Ramsay Dunlop’s vast experience of building award winning analogue products alongside their father has resulted in a groundbreaking 3-point suspended precision turntable. Going back to the drawing board with a clean sheet, the Systemdek 3D utilizes some extraordinarily clever engineering to ensure it is as free from external feedback as is currently possible.

IsoTek introduce their most advanced mains cable to date – Syncro
The IsoTek Syncro is not a filter or a mains conditioner in the accepted sense.
It can be used to power a single piece of Hi-Fi equipment bringing a major improvement, but it can do so much more when you plug the Syncro into the mains outlet socket and then use it to power an IsoTek Mains conditioner device.
Configured in this way, the Syncro cleverly takes the incoming mains supply, realigns the waveform before the Filter / Conditioner begins its job of removing RFI / EMI contamination. The effect of synchronising the supply results in greater bass depth and much better timing. In many cases dynamics are considerably improved as well with a reduction in the noise floor and the removal of any hum.

It’s been 3 months and I’m still trying to find a way…..
Do I really need 2 kidneys? Like really?
And it hasn’t stopped there either. I am now paying more attention to the CCTV locations in my local Natwest branch and subconsciously timing the arrival of the Securicor van. Maybe the only surefire way of doing this legitimately is to join my local constituency and claim for it for my second home in Surrey. Either way this thing has to happen. Somehow….
You may remember from my very first post about my recent McIntosh factory tour that we were teased with the prospect of their demo theatre later that day. Well here it is in all it’s glory. Possibly the finest piece of high-end ‘willy waggling’ in recent history. Why? Because they can.
